There are small places where fur should have been darker to resemble black dog. I would definitely tone down some small chosen areas.

Here is a small tip I discovered today I would like to share - Today I got Staedler Mars Lumograph graphite 8B pencil. I wish someone else told me before that this particular brand and only 8B and 7B are made with a very special kind of black dark graphite that has no shine. It produces mat black deep dark tone impossible to achieve with any other 8B or 9B graphite brand on the market.Lela Stankovichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14304614164163728623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3734923695875024838.post-32913500747282740922010-09-11T08:01:38.557-07:002010-09-11T08:01:38.557-07:00Truly a work of art, beautiful detail and very exp...Truly a work of art, beautiful detail and very expressive.Horsthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11886604653467851370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3734923695875024838.post-38604372202427130522010-09-09T14:54:33.053-07:002010-09-09T14:54:33.053-07:00Lela, I can imagine you getting in close to the ph...Lela, I can imagine you getting in close to the photo or blowing it up really large in order to see all of the detail of the individual hair clusters. Very detailed and specific, especially the flow of the hair. The only suggestion I could make is to add even darker sections on the chest of the dog and between it's eyes. Your drawing is fantastic but at first glance the dog is sort of black and white evenly all over. If that makes any sense.

No one has yet to mention the glow behind the dog. The fading gray in the background keeps the focus on the dog, like you can't even look away. A really genius touch.Paulahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17596599995370308702noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3734923695875024838.post-47304123537950568732010-09-07T08:47:28.663-07:002010-09-07T08:47:28.663-07:00Wonderful work!
