I love the way Andy's painting gives a 'character' to the still life.

The reference photograph captured the beauty of the pears but this (Andy's) painting brings the pears to life. The roughness of the surface, the shadow and light and other details which look 'casual' but obviously are a come from great talent and skill.

Andy, you've done a terrific job with making this painting unique with your own particular style. I feel as though I could physically reach into the painting and pull out a solid pear (or two).

I really appreciate your recommending this challenge to the Daily Painters of Pennsylvania blog members and followers - thank you!

Andy, I discovered this blog from seeing your painting your Daily Painters and going, "Wow!" Looked at your other work and wish I lived closer to take advantage of your classes, workshop, etc. I love your watercolor style, precisely loose and casual.
