Anita,

Good rendering of the jar. I like the addition of the scoop. I also like that you've allowed the texture of the canvas to show through. I do think it would enhance your painting if you would smooth out the striped effect somewhat in the background as it detracts from your center of interest.

Love the texture coming through from the canvas. The addition of the scoop is well-placed, makes a perfect triangle for balance. The foreground table with grain & reflections adds to this nicely. I think I might subdue the background a bit so it doesn't compete for attention - the color tends to grab my eye.

Your painting is warm and inviting. Great job on the reflections on the table,

Thanks so much for your nice comments Jan,Nancie and Debbie! Yes, you r right about the background being overbearing. I guess, I got carried away with it trying to achieve an overall brightness to the painting. You made me realize the center of interest takes priority. I'll try toning it down a bit and see what it'll look like. Appreciate ur critiques!:-)

I was drawn to the colors as well. They are so warm, it reminded me of a hot cup of coffee in a cozy cafe. Like said above, it does all blend together, but I found it to be very pretty.
