Very nice colors and the duckling is charming.
Nice rendering of the duck and water, Paula. My suggestion would be to squint at the photo and then at your painting. You have the light and midtone values in place, but you need some dark values, moreso in the water, to really make you baby duck pop. Now, remember, this is just an "opinion" and not necessarily the way it "has" to be....you are the artist.
Yes, you are right Pat. I painted this so quickly I am sorry to say. I was at that point where you can keep going and either fix it or mess it all up. I opted to let it go and be satisfied with what I had. I may try and tweak it a bit again. See what I can get. Thanks for the advice. The squinting really helped.
