Book: Painting Glorious Rose Flowers in Watercolor – in 7 Stages

This is a very nice "cutting" of a rose - something I would love to find in my garden and bring in to put in a vase...will have to wait until the warm weather returns...the temps have been in the twenties here, so no more flowers until spring.
What a beautiful pink you used in this. So delicate. My only suggestion would be to add some variation in the greens of the leaves - the green seems to be a bit too similar in values. Just a few highlights and a couple of shadows.
Jenni let me tell you that your painting of rose is my husband's favorite:).Lovely choice of pink which adds to the tenderness of the rose.Liked your background too.Keep up the good work!
Thank you all for your kind comments. I always find mixing greens very difficult and I should really have attempted to paint a few drops of water (I did try a few practice ones but they looked pretty awful). I added rose pink water colour to acrylic titanium white to obtain the colour of the rose.
