Renate Arends - "Νούφαρο"

  • Artist: Renate Arends
  • Size: 34 x 24 cm.
  • Medium & Support:  Watercolor on Yupo.
  • Artist Blog: www.renatearends.blogspot.nl
  • Artist Website:
  • Painting Process: I started with the water lily and the reflections. Then I painted the water. I thought it would be easy but it was so difficult. In particular the water took me quite a long time.  Because of  the Yupo the colors ran into each other whereby the shade didn't come out well. It was a very good exercise!

Still really like the reflections on this. Glad I wasn't the only one struggling. :)

It seems so difficult with Yupo. I don´t think I would do 10% as well as you Renate!

Is yupo only usable for watercolour or is it something that can be used for other media?
Sounds interesting,all the best Syls

@ Nelvia: No you were not! Though a good exercise after all:)

@ Catharina: You should try it for once. I'm sure you like it and make something beautiful with it!

@ Syl: You also can do it with acrylics and ink. Maybe for more but I'm not aware off.

Thank you all for your lovely comments. I do appreciate them:)xx
